Perfect for fuel on the bike or a delicious treat to satisfy your sweet cravings. Tried and tested by the OTE Team, we don't think you will be disappointed with our Chocolate & Banana Oat slice recipe.

This week we have Chocolate and Banana Oat Slices. This is a simple to make, low calorie treat which will make you question whether it really is as healthy as we say! One slice (again depending how big you cut them) is around 100kcal with a carbohydrate content of around 20g- great food to stick in your back pocket for an energy boost whilst training. This recipe can be gluten free if you use gluten free oats!

Ingredients-

  • 100g of oats- blended down into oat flour.
  • 50g of cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
  • ½ of baking powder
  • 3 large banana- Blended to a puree (ripe bananas work best)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 90g of honey
  • 40g of dark chocolate chips

 

Preheat the oven to 175C and line an 8×8 deep tray

Mix together the oat flour, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder and cocoa powder.

In a separate bowl blend together the bananas, honey and vanilla until you have a smooth puree.

Combine dry ingredients into the banana puree mixture. Then fold in your chocolate chips.

Pour into your tray and bake for 15 minutes or until you can you can pull a knife out clean. Cut into around 12.

I then melted a few extra chocolate chips and drizzled this over the top to finish. This is up to you but remember the more chocolate you include, the more the calorie content goes up.
