Berry Super Gel

Running gels can make all the difference for race-day performance, and we recommend putting 2-3 gels in the pockets of your running shorts (be sure to zip them up!) or using an elastic, lightweight belt to carry them.

OTE gels can play a vital role in maximising endurance and reaching new personal bests on race day, but everyone’s needs will be different when it comes to how often they will need to use a berry gel throughout a run. 

Firstly, consider your pace. The faster you run, the more energy you burn, so taking a gel every 20 minutes should be enough to sustain your carbohydrate levels. Slower runners may prefer to use one every 30 minutes. Also, taller and heavier runners may prefer to consume 3 per hour (rather than 2) to sustain performance.

We recommend taking energy gels for exercise lasting over an hour. This exercise duration will deplete the body’s energy reserves sufficiently for the OTE Sports energy gels to be effective. 

How long OTE energy gels take to kick in can vary depending on factors such as metabolism and body weight. Generally, they take around 15 minutes to take effect.
