Alistair Brownlee

Alistair has had an impressive grand total of 21 wins in the ITU World Triathlon Series, spanning from his first win in 2009. Brownlee represented Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics finishing in 12th place and went on to win that year’s U23 World Triathlon Championship. The following year he was unbeaten in the five races as part of the ITU World Championship series. Which in the process lead him to become the first person ever to win the men’s ITU Triathlon World Championships titles for Junior (2006), Under 23 (2008) and Elite (2009).

In the opening event of the 2011 ITU Championship season in Sydney, Brownlee suffered a heavy fall while in the lead which brought early disappointment and a 29th place finish. This was contrasted with outstanding success when, in the space of just twenty-one days during June 2011, Alistair Brownlee convincingly won the next two ITU series events. In this same year he also successfully defended his European title at the 2011 Pontevedra ETU Triathlon European Championships where he shared the podium with his brother Jonathan, who took the silver medal. Alistair went on to also win the 2011 ITU world title after gold at the Grand Final in Beijing.

Since then, Alistair has gone on to secure Olympic glory with gold at both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Sporadic ITU racing after Rio nevertheless saw victories at the 2017 WTS Leeds and the 2019 Cagliari World Cup, as well as another European title in Weert.

Alistair has now focused his attention on to the long-distance triathlons of 70.3 and Ironman distances. He dipped his toe into middle-distance racing in 2017, winning IRONMAN 70.3 St. George and Challenge Gran Canaria, and he had successive second places at the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in 2018 and 2019. He stepped up to full distance in 2019, taking the tape at IRONMAN Ireland (with a cancelled swim) and then finishing in a blistering 7:45:20 at IRONMAN Western Australia. He made his debut one the ‘Big Island’ in 2019, finishing in 21st place after fading from 3rd at the start of the run.  Now he is fully committed to long-course triathlon we can’t wait to see what he can achieve.

Will Draper

Will Draper is a long-distance Triathlete from the Isle of Man. We are very excited to welcome him to the OTE Fuelled team as he looks to improve on his continually developing career in middle distance triathlon. He recently relocated to the triathlon mecca and home of OTE headquarters, Leeds, now training alongside some of our very successful OTE athletes such as the Brownlee brothers, Beth Potter and Lucy Byram.

Will started competing in triathlon in 2018 before making his professional long-course debut in 2021. He competed at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth games in Triathlon where he finished 24th in a highly competitive field! However, he is no stranger to one discipline in particular, as he has previously held cycling national titles in both Road and Track Cycling events as a youth. At age 17 he started racing internationally throughout Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands, and as a junior cyclist he competed in prestigious races such as the Tour of Flanders and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne.

Now 22 years old, Will’s focus over the coming season is to continue improving his swim so he can exit the water closer to the front allowing him to capitalise on his strong bike and run. We hope that with our support he will go from strength to strength and continue to improve all three disciplines.
